This years event will be held at none other than the home of the World Cup Finals, MIR! We are very excited to see these Holdens rip down one of the best tracks in the country!

TIMELINE
Friday 5/10
  • 12:00 Noon – Lunch Cruise to the Ruddy Duck Brewery
    • The restaurant will be opening solely for our event and the menu will be limited.
    • Leaving from the Host Hotel sharply at noon, we will take the drive to the Ruddy Duck Brewery in Dowell MD. 
    • The drive is 42 highway miles, roughly 53 minutes.
    • We expect all drivers to obey local speed and traffic laws while cruising.
    • After lunch, we will be cruising back to the hotel.
  • 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Cruise to MIR for Midnight Madness
    • Not affiliated with the Extravaganza, MIR will be hosting their Midnight Madness races. This is an open event, from my understanding, it is much like a test & tune and brackets in one.
    • Once event is over, people are welcome to hang at the hotel, in the overflow parking area (Wal-Mart) or do whatever they might want. 
saturday 5/11
  • 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM – Holden Extravaganza
    • Gates Open: 10am
    • Roll Racing: 11am – 12:30pm
    • Drag Racing/Qualifying: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
    • Open Runs (Must have drag pack): 2:30pm – 3:30pm
    • Burnout Contest: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
    • Drag Racing: 4:30pm – 7pm
    • Racing Awards: 7:30pm
    • Car Show Registration: 10am – 4pm

SUNDAY 5/12
  • 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM – CARS & COFFEE (FAIRWELL)
    • To end the event, we ask that everyone joins us in a “Fariwell” Cars & Coffee – In the parking lot adjacent to the Host Hotel you will find a Starbucks Coffee shop.

  • MIR (Maryland International Raceway) – May 11th 2024 
    • Maryland’s premier drag racing facility, hosting more than 100 events annually.
  • Roll Racing
    • For those who just are new to racing, don’t own a drag pack, or just want to give it a go. Roll racing is a great time for everyone of any skill level.
  • Open Runs
    • This is the time to test your Holden, make some test hits or just run for fun.
  • Qualifying 
    • Anyone participating in racing will have their chance to qualify and see which class they fall into.
  • Racing
    • Racing will be into either Street or Pro-Street. You can find more information in the below tabs.

  • MIR Parking Lot, Inside Gate, next to stage 
    • This years car show will be held at the track during the day. Any cars that are participating in both the car show and racing are free to leave the show to race and then rejoin the show. 
       
    • Don’t worry about rubber on your back bumper and quarters, they add character and who knows, it may even earn you some points with the judges. Remember, not all show cars are race cars, but ALL race cars are show cars! 
  • Awards
    • Trophy’s will be rewarded to individuals after points are tally’d.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION

Roll racing has been growing in popularity over the last several years. It will be a heads-up 1/4 mile race.
 
Racers roll onto the drag strip to start the race rather than from a complete stop. Roll racing mimics a “Highway Pull” but you are in a controlled, safer, legal environment. 
 
Roll racing is also much easier on the vehicle than drag racing from a dig. It is a great way for both experienced racers and people just getting into the sport to have fun while learning and getting comfortable with their cars. 
Below information is for Drag Racing only and does not pertain to Roll Racing or Open Track Racing.

*If you are registering for the car show, as well as racing, you will be allowed to leave the car show to race and you spot will be held for your return, and burnt rubber might even get you some extra points! 😉
